Corporate mission, message from CEO, office location, and corporate profile of Kyoei Marine
Our Mission
Create a World with No Serious Marine Accidents
Our mission is to “create a world with no serious marine accidents.” No one on-board should encounter a hazardous accident. This is prioritized in the regular operations of our captains, crew members, and land staff. Their daily efforts prevent not only serious accidents but also various other accidents and troubles. We are committed to providing value through safe operation for everyone involved in vessel operation.
Message from CEO
I believe there are two pillars for our business.
One is our “crew.”
Based upon the hands-on experiences of our founder, who was once a crew member, Kyoei Marine has long conducted business with a focus on the excellence of the “crew.” Japan is a nation of islands that is surrounded by the sea, and therefore there is a particular importance to the crew that operate the ships and boats that connect the islands. However, from the time of the foundation of the company through to today, the situation for the crew has been harsh due to factors such as the decrease in ocean-going voyages associated with the strong yen rate and the streamlining of vessel operations, which has resulted in an aged and diminished crew as time has passed. Even in such times, Kyoei Marine is determined to develop and appreciate the value of crew.
The other pillar is “ocean development, survey, and operation.”
Soon after incorporation, Kyoei Marine was primarily engaged in the use of large tow boats for the transportation of steel structures and offshore derricks, etc. to the Persian Gulf and to bring foreign ships and boats for sale in destinations such as Singapore. Later, Kyoei Marine and the crew started to engage in ocean surveys, marine salvage, ship transportation, towing of large barges, and other ocean operations in and around Japanese coastal waters. Today, our business operations range from ocean surveys and salvage operations to the management of vessels including submarine drilling vessels and platforms for offshore wind farm construction. Among our past projects for “ocean development, survey, and operation,” there were projects that were novel both in Japan and globally, and the know-how acquired through those experiences will benefit promising future ocean development and renewable energy development around Japan.
“Creating a world with no serious marine accidents” – Sticking to this corporate mission, we strive to work at the intersection of the two pillars; we are committed to our duties through our crew who are equipped with excellent skills and techniques for ocean development, survey, and operation. Through this endeavor, I believe that we will be able to offer value to our stakeholders and make a contribution to society.
